Golden Embrace was a modeling agency and music/video production company with a television channel dedicated to music and lifestyle.

First artistic job under contract

After finishing my studies at Restart, Institute of Creativity, Arts and New Technologies, I was called for an interview by a company called Golden Embrace, dedicated to launching new talents in music and modeling.

 

I was chosen to become part of the post-production team and it became my first artistic job under contract.

The company was segmented into several sectors, these being:

  • Gold Music (dedicated to music and video clip production);

  • Gold Fashion (the fashion, modeling and photography section);

  • Gold Out (focused on reporting nightlife in bars and clubs);

  • Gold Houses (which consisted of promoting the real estate business);

  • Gold Cars (where high end cars for sale were showcased).

The first challenge the company presented me with were the logos above, which were not vectorized but in JPG format, very pixelated, and in a considerably small size.

 

I was told that they had been designed by a designer who no longer worked for the company and was out of reach, so the first line of work I did was:

  • The vectorization of the 4 initial logos (Gold Music, Cars, Houses and Fashion), using the JPG files that the company had access to);

  • The animation of the Gold Music logo vectors, synchronized with the beat of any music being played, for use in music videos and other promotions;

  • Several sketches for a logo representing the Gold Out sector, which would later be created by me from scratch and then vectorized.

I started working in the Gold Out sector after some time focusing on Gold Music, where I helped with some music videos and produced business cards and social media posts, which included the monthly Top  (a thematic list, different every month, consisting of the best musical hits at the time).

I then produced the Gold Out logo, which is displayed on the left side.

Later, I also created the logo for "Flashes da Noite" (Night Flashes), a television series that, at the time, the company had ambitions to launch within this sector.

 

From then on, at the company's request, I redirected my efforts to this series.

I created, through video manipulation and editing, using Adobe After Effects, Audition and Premiere, a generic intro to present the series that had as its content the report on the nightlife of bars and clubs, thus also promoting them.
